these seats are god awful looking, who would ever put them in a car needs their head examined!

My Dad got the Riva after the floor on his old Peugeot 104 rusted through providing a new window. It was orange with a black vinyl roof and had a Russian tin of touch up paint in the boot.
The Samara, he bought new in 1990. The salesman actually tried to turn him toward an Austin MaestroHad one of the worst put together interiors ever. Honestly, it made a Fiat Uno look like a Mercedes from the 70's.
The last one was a bit ropey. A '91 on an H and he bought it straight after the Samara. Ended up killing it when a tractor ran into him. Was a light impact, but wrote the Riva off. Straight after that, it was the mighty 1 litre 5 door Uno that I learned to drive in
I guess though I just developed a hatred of Ladas due to the ridicule I got at school. Everyone else had fairly normal cars and my Dad came along with his orange Cortina wannabe...not the best impression was left.
Speaking of seats (to get back on topic), that Uno didn't have the nicest pattern of trim in it to say the least![]()

Were Ladas built or assembled near Bridlington, East Yorks?
I just seem to remember a big factory over there when I was a kid, could have dreamt it though lol - they might have been turning old kit-kat wrappers into riva bodyshells hehe

Think you might be counting for a while PNL :)
