Not cheap at £1900 - If I had a garage I would offer him £1600 cash. Ive asked him if he would sell the front brembo setup seperately with my standard kit in p/ex.

He 'snapped' the paddles off the steering wheel though.

Are the paddles flimsy enough to snap off?! Can't picture it.

Somehow I don't think he's going to get near £1900 let alone the BIN price of £2100.

The paddles are on pretty well in my car, they dont have much movement in them (they use microswitches), so more likey theyve been ragged off with some grips or something.

It is pricey. That gearbox problem will be a fortune to get fixed. Plus bodywork.

If I could afford it I would keep the engine and brakes and sell the rest and use bits to refurb mine.

He is in leeds too - never seen him though the pictures are the white rose centre car park.

I paid 3k for mine, which is newer, fsh and had all the belts done. And has NO problems lol

And I would rather have the cute bear with very few faults and an engine that when the cam belt breaks it doesnt wreck the engine..OUCH!!!..F.I.R.E ..FTW.. lol..

I have always thought that fiat lost the plot when it came to the abarth and the later shoowee..after all if your going to bring out a top of the range then do it in style and with an engine worthy of calling top of the range.. they already had a very reliable unit in the alfa ie.. V6 ..leave out the boat paddles and the gimmick electronics and you could have a car worth owning..and one that doesnt cost you an arm and two legs when things go wrong..to late to turn the pages of history back now but if they could I'm guessing they might just do it differently for the second time around.. at least they part of the equation correct they did a 5dr for all the sensible people out there..

Nah I dont agree, Id rather have 170bhp under the bonnet with the possibility of a snapped cam belt than an 1108 with 60bhp that is bulletproof.

Unfortunately technology is here to stay. I dont mind flappy paddle gearboxes - ive had no issues with mine. You say these cars are full of gimmicks, ever been in a new BMW with idrive? Most would struggle to get it off the driveway.

They should have done a standard 2.4 then a the schuey should have been a lower pressure turbo/super charged version with about 220/230 standard.

They would never put an alfa v6 in a stilo, the car would cost over 20k and not many people would buy it, thats why theres the 147/156 GTA.

The 5door , wasnt that called the Stilo 'Shrek' edition....

Anyway - on topic, this has set me off, I want brembo's. Might get some old ones and refurb them
