Hi mates,

today from the morning everything was ok, no strange noise, gear changing was ok, just perfect, I left car for whole day at my job car parking, and in the evening when I started the enging BOOOM red icon of gearbox and warning notice - gearbox error, return to dealer!! I can't change gears... WTF?!?! I left my car at my job for the night, I don't know what to do now.. Any ideas?

best case, the actuator needs recalibrating at a dealer. you need the fault code read so you can tell what it is

worst case, you dont want too know but i doubt very much its that

how much about cost used and new gearbox?!

a lot, I think they go for about £800 on t'bay for a used one with the actuators etc.

When you open the car door, can you hear the pump prime? Can you move the car with it in Auto?

You should also be able to shift between N and 1 without the engine running.

Let us know how you get on, Ive got a selespeed myself and have fixed lots of issues on others.

If you were nearer I might have been able to take a look for you

At the moment I can't check the pump, but the car is not reacting to auto button, it's the same, gear standing at N, one my friend said maybe I will need to try disconnect battery and connect it again, maybe it's some electric problem, I'll try to do it tomorrow. But it's very strange that this error comes out of nowhere...

I would unplug the battery for a few hours firstly. Although it doesnt really reset anything other than the learned parameters. When you reconnect the battery you will hear the pump whirr and prime for a little longer than usual.

Also check the usual, make sure the fluid is okay. You never know, you might turn up at it in the morning and it will work fine again?

Definately get it checked at a garage who have the fiat examiner though, as any faults will still be present for the tech to see.

Dont suppose its been raining heavily, or driven through any big puddles or anything?

I don't know lot about salespeed gearbox, but maybe this error can be like security that gearbox oil is ending or something like that?! Becouse when I bougth this car I didn't change gearbox oil..

and in therory the gearbox oil needs changing at least every service to keep in top condition,anything to keep the complex hyraulics lubed
