strange noise i was on the way to work today . and i was driving normaly when suddenly there was a loud squeaking noise . like really squeaky breaks but i wasnt using the breakes . then it stop happend again like 5 mins later and now it hasnt happend again . wierd huh . anyone guess what it could be ?
Re: strange noise with out more info its a bit of a guess. it could be a stone caught in your brake disks, wheel bearing thowing a wobbly or even a aux belt / compressor pump belt lose or on the way out.
where abouts was the noise coming from? was you accelrating, was the engine under heavy load - ie aircon (aricon belt), or blowers on full whack with say heated windows (electrical load, if the aux belt is loose then it will cause the squeeching noise).
how is your engine temp?, is it normal - it could also be waterpump, or even tensioners on your cam belt if its due a change.
there are too many varibles to answer helpfully at the moment.
