On Saturday i was topping the screen wash up and found this cable/earth just hanging....can anyone tell me what or were it is surpose to be pls

looks like an earth mate, i would just connect it up somewhere, does it spark with the engine running?

Yep looks like an earth undo the bolt [bottom right and stick it there ]..

I dont want to alarm you in any way but look at the blow up pic ..now does that look like a crack in the top of the alternator..

I only got one good eye at the mo so bare with me..but to me it looks like a crack..

looks like an oil stain to me Phil, but good spotting anyway mate.

Chalky would be worth confirming wethere it is a crack or a stain.

wouldnt worry too much about the apparent crack just keep an eye on it

i used to re manufacture starters and alternators and used to see this type of thing on a regular basis
