Hi there folks.
I was just wondering
1. What are you using for engine oil
2. What grade is the right one
I am using DriveTec 5w40 fully synthetic and have seen some improvement on my Beasts perfomance and economy.

Well, dealer last did mine so I would ASSUME it's perhaps Selenia 5w40 as that's what it says in the book as the recommended one I believe. Shall probably do the next oil change myself so I know for sure. Not due a service till next February though and I check the oil every other month as the 1.2 uses barely any oil anyway. In fact, I've only done about 2-3k miles since last service in February![]()
i use mobile 1 super S 10w40, very good oil IMO, i have used it in all my cars.
I wonder what everyone else is using

I used selenia 10/40 in the 1.6 and the wifes 1.4..dont believe the tosh that fiat come up with regarding the grade of oil to use..many who have the panda 100hp have found that using the 5w 40 have had an adverse effect and gone back to using the 10w/40.. Mobil 1 is a very good oil if you cant be arsed to use selenia ..they are doing a deal in halfords at the mo on the stuff..

could be a little on the Thin side mate
The 5w is for low temps and we dont get the low temps that necessitates its use..its a wide range long life oil oil that fiat are telling everyone now they need to use in their engines which as it happens is more expensive then the 10w/40 even selenia themselves dont quote that the 5w/40 is for the 1.2/4 and certainly not when the buggers stuck it in my Panda ..I am still a big believer in servicing our cars every 6 months and although her in doors had a warranty on her stilo and servicing was done at the dealer I still did the extra one inbetween the yearly one..she does mainly short trips and this means an engine is more prone to pick up contamination from carbons etc..people who do more long trips on their cars wont get the problem so much..
