Recurring Oil Pressure Light When Tight Cornering
hey peeps,
recently my stilo has told me numerous times that i have low oil pressure and to turn off my engine soon as. ive checked the oil level numerous times and it appears fine. no leakage or anything, the strange thing is it only comes on when im going round a roundabout or busting out a couple of handbrake turns on an empty carpark.
a friend of mine said it could just be the oil shifting to one side of the car away from the sensor but who knows?
any suggestions?

Well the fact that its saying LOW oil pressure is bad..and it Could be the oil surging to one side in the sump pan so i guess you need to stay away from car parks..
Problems could be a dodgy sensor.. oil pump..partly block strainer on the pick up pipe for the pump.. the fact that it come up on the dash as a warning light then it should have left it logged on the ECU so get the fault read first to see what it says..

Phil - aye, I remember building many a baffled sump (with trap doors) up for my Lancias and for other folk in Fiats. Thought I've a quick dip into GCs site..... hadn't considered a pressue accumulator I must admit.
Interesting......... Guy Croft Racing Engines • View topic - Oil Pressure Control
Sure there'll be more in there - but other than for the abarth rally jobs (with the 1.8 engine) I wonder if anyone has actually built a fully baffled sump up for a Stilo engine??
Hmmmmmmm

Guy Croft is the dogs that man worked in F1 and knows his stuff alrighty..I myself can even remember rebuilding engines on my old rootes group cars and even then and back in those days they had baffles sumps..I think if Zero is going to continue to take roundabouts on two wheels and do he stuff in car parks then he might need to think about it in the future..
