alright lads
ummm i was just wondering . when you change the water pump on a stilo 1.6 do you have to touch the cam belt . i would like to do the water pump myself but i dont want to mess about with the cambelt . i no they run off diferent belts . is it a easy job ? do you need any spiecal tools ? is ther any guides on the internet ? have any off you done it before ? would you do it yourself ? and just to conferm . it wont **** up the cam belt timeing or the timing off the engine if i change it ? . cheeers

It does mean (ideally) doing the cambelt.... be daft not to really as you're as well changing the tensioner and belts whilst you're in there.
I'm prepared to be shot down in flames here, but as far as I know all Fiat engines do still run the water pump off the timing belt....... certainly the last ones I worked on did but fair play, they weren't the Stilo lumps.
Unless you know what you're doing - and have the specialist tools - I would strongly advise against doing it yourself. A world of pain awaits if it all goes wrong

The cam belt runs off the back of the crank pulley on a toothed cog while the aux belt runs of a pulley at the front..
hope that helps..
cheers mate
but does this mean that i may interfear with the cam belt or the timing off the engine coz if i do then i wont touch it !!

Pic shows aux belt to the front on the crank pulley ..cambelt pulley is to the rear of it and doesnt need to be touched to change aux belt and pump..but and I mean this if the pump has been leaking then contamination of the cam belt might have already taken place so while your down there check it out..see Roys guide how to remove cam belt cover to inspect it..

cheers for your help mate
just one more thing . Is it easy ( how long does it take and that ) ? And do you have to jack the engine up ?
