Default asr loose connection & alternator failure

had issues with my 1.6 16v dynamic regarding asr, alternator n car security. would be driving car n it would just cut out. 1st either the rpm would drope or i would hear warning sounds then it would state asr loose connection then cut out n i would have to pull up. very embarrassing. before it got to the car security state it would start back up, then it got to the car security state with the paddlock icon flashing. After some research realised it could of been battery. had battery changed n no longer car security however asr loose connection n alternator failure has once again come up.

now i have a cliford alarm(arrow 5.1) with remote start n my cousin seemed to think that can be the problem but it seems to either be the battery/ ecu/ D4 connector or definatly the alternator.

also had clutch n cv pump/ boot changed n since then everything has been coming up.

what could be the problem ?????????????????

Yeah make sure the D4 is very clean. Also check the connections in the two connectors on the ECU, they carry a lot of canbus and other stuff too.

Contact cleaner and an old toothbrush should do the trick, and give them a good push.

Also check your car earths. You can do this by measuring the resistance between parts of the car and the negative terminal of the battery.

Check the ECU to -ve and the engine to -ve.

Just had similar to this on my Stilo. Finally got it sorted out. Turns out water had managed to get into the fuse box and throw up errors. Started irratically then permanent. Might be worth checking this?

Based on my current and previous experience with my stilo... I also would say that all those things might be result of old batteries... or also alternator starting to die.
Everytime my stilo is with weak electric output.... I see the fireworks on the dashboard! (abs... asr... ebd... etc etc etc...)
