Default Exhaust Silencer & Flexi-Pipe Replacement...

I've been advised, after a recent full service, to change the silencer and flexi-pipe. Could anyone advise of a place to get these parts cheaply (Other than ebay) and also, would fitting a twin exhaust be costly?

    Thanks!

You dont say which silencer needs to be changes but i guess its the centre box [I hope] if so the flexy and centre box are in one and you will only need to change that section..

    Ah, sorry!

Its the rearbox according to the sheet. I have written here: "Flexible pipe/joint blowing and silencer corroded (Rearbox)".

If this fits the part in the link you referred to, then at least I have some idea of what I'd be looking for. Since I couldn't source this part on ebay, is there anywhere else that could do it cheaper?

Also, thanks for your help! It's greatly appreciated!

help is what we are here for..no problem ..flexy is part of the centre section so if you want to salvage that then you will have to find yourself a replacement flexy cut the old one off and get the new one welded in its place..you can get some flexy's that bolt on and are secured by clamps but I personally would go for the welded way ..rear box is replacement so by the sound of things unless it can be repaired in some way it looks as tho you luck might be out if you cant effect the repairs and then a new system is going to be you only option for you ..bummer..

Well I sourced this part from ebay...

FIAT STILO HATCHBACK 1.8 2001- Exhaust Rear Silencer on eBay (end time 16-Jan-10 01:59:08 GMT)

Wot do you think? Was planning to get the flexi pipe attached to this. Keeps costs down as not really entertaining the £200 part direct from Fiat lol. Can you not buy the flexi-pipe seperate?

Good price on the back box that should do you nicely thank you very much [good find] the flexy is part of the centre section and is located just after the front flange on that section ..yes you can buy the flexy's separate but you will have to find out which bore size fits the pipe..I think the pipe diameter on that section of exhaust is around 2" O.D. [outside diameter] but you best check that to make sure before you purchase a flexy joint.just to make sure..I think Mhussain over on fiat forum did the flexy on his so he could give you extra info on this if you contacted him.. there is an ebayer who does sell flexy's here it is..
