    Default engine failure

    hey,
i've just been to a local friendly garage yesterday as i've done my service there few weeks ago and the car had an engine failure on it, the lad said nothing too bad there was something to do with the air filter, and yet again few days ago i got the same thing as before, when got down to motorway, reached about 70-80mph the car just started dying, engine failure back on... so he scanned the car, reseted it, it came up with 3 codes: P0130, P0105, P1221.
he explained to me every1 of them, cant remember now what exactly they were, but i just cant get it still is it the air filter mockering up again or what? the guys in the garage said to drive around and see if it comes up again...
any ideas would be much appreciated
    cheers

P1221 yeah, he said it was something to do with the throttle position...
the wierdest thing is that they're not coming up if i'm not going on the motorway and obviously everything is fine after restart of the car... so it's not the air filter, it's just the malfunctions in the circuits somewher...? cheers

had a quick clean for the throttle valve, the only thing is that the revs are still mocking around after i push the gas pedal, but it drops down and sort of a stops in one position witch is quite low if after the flash for the ecu, it stays on about 0.74 rpm( after ecu flash it stays @ 0.8rpm as i red there).
there are some pics, obviously nothing too much to be said probably from them, but still i can push the valve into position where it should be( i think) and then it pops back out for a 1-2mm.
thats what i've got for the throttle body

and thats the image for the revs

should i be concerned about it sitting a bit too low? well i guess i'll see if it comes back after few days and see then

Revs are a litte low so try this.. take of the connector to the throttle body and clean the pins with conntact cleaner..then try this..

[1] Switch on Ign [dont start the car] for one min

[2] Switch off for one min.

[3] Start car but dont touch the throttle pedal at all and let it idle until the fan kicks in [should be about 10/15 mins ]

    [4] Switch off.

    [5] Repeat step one.

    [6] repeat step two.

If that dont work then it could be ECU or throttle body or wiring between the two..

well, had it once more again today coming back from the barber shop... so i've cleaned the throttle body again and gave a good spray on the contacts of MAP and throttle body wires a bit later was going to shop and the failure sign was gone! want to go on the motorway to see if that will bring it up again, if not i might be saved! ohh and will try this thing in previous post of yours Phil, thanks again for the help!

My revs sit in the same place as yours mate and drop down to 600 quite often once the car is an normal temperature but it's been pointed out that it is related to the camshaft sensor and the fact that my alternator is going lol

well try cleaning thottle valve if it does go up and down, it stabilised mine at least, cause it did piss me off greatly... standing there at the lights, green off you start to push the gas and revs drop down, all the car starts shaking as before death and you go off slow as god knows what... and hopefully cleaning connectors sorted out the other one out, i think i might try phils suggested treatment on the saturday or friday even
