Default Clutch slipping, time for a new clutch maybe?

    Hey,

Rite ive noticed my clutch has started to slip on my 1.9 jtd, 115 break. (i have got a tuning box fitted but i think the clutch slipping is prob to do with the 110,000 miles ive got on the clock lol)

Firstly, when the clutch slips, does that mean i need a new clutch?

Secondly ive done a quick google, and found this clutch kit FIAT Stilo 1.9 JTD Clutch Kit(Valeo) (sorry about link, but cant find url link so it highlights a word lol)

is this the type of thing i want? obviously ill more than likely be getting someone to fit it, as it will prob be outta my experience range.

And thirdy, if i was just to phone a few garages up, what type of price should i be expecting, so i know if it comes to it, im not gettin ripped off.

On a side note, i got a light come up on my dash earlier this week, and i seem to notice it on start up now(duno whether it came on before and because it come on while driving other day ive just think im noticing it) its a triangle with an ! inside it. Tried to look round google with no luck as i dont know what to refer the symbol as.

Many thanks, and any info is appreciated.

hi Benvo, yes that looks like the correct clutch kit for your car.
your clutch has lasted well if its done 110k. a clutch can go at anytime.
you should be expecting to pay anywhere upto £100/150 for a clutch job as the gearbox has to be removed.
not sure what the yellow light is on your dash you'll probably need to get a diagnostic check done on it.

Hiya Benvo, that light normally comes up with a message on the dash screen. Have you noticed one? It's a generic one that covers many things, from 'Over Speed' warning, to gearbox failure (if you've got the Auto gearbox).

110K on clutch is bloomin great..but as its got a tuning box I think this time around you might want to go for an uprated one from here..

No didnt see a message, on start up i only get my usual pre heat fault message come up, next time it comes on while driving ill see if i can see a message.

Thanks for the replies about the clutch, i spoke to a mate about fitting the clutch and he said it be bout 100, but he fixes cars but isn't a garage, so ill see if i can get some quotes from local garages today!

As for the uprated clutch kits on that website you linked, so for example my standard bhp is 115. is it any of the clutch's listed for 115, or are some of them the standard kits.

    Many Thanks.

this is the one your looking for mate, its a fast road clutch kit £164.86

yes any clutch listed for the 115jtd will be okay but as PNL says you'd be better with a fast road one they have a more abrasive clutch material
