Question Newbie with an Engine prob

Well first off a hello from me, i have just got my self a little 1.6 Dynamic as a run a round

secondly, its a bit of a strange prob, the car starts drives and does as it should, but when at a stands still (at lights or in traffic) with he clutch depressed, the car rocks slightly, almost as if the clutch is at biting point and then depressed.. so does an one have any idea's as to what it might be??

apart form that the car is great, no air bag lights, no engine management light and all the electrics work... luckily.. lol

    Thanks

    Neil

Hi and welcome to the site..look at the rev counter and tell me whats it ticking over at ? sounds like its about to cut out due to low revs..should be around 850 rpm..

    Hi,

i was out today and did notice the revs dropping slightly, however i doesnt mirror the rocking/surging of the car, when you mentioned the rev's before what sort of fix were you thinking of?

    thanks

    Neil

Far from it its a very valid point..and if the revs are surging and dropping I wouldnt mind betting its the dreaded throttle body clean which is a tendency of the 1.6 engine..[see guide]..

it does sound like the throttle body is the culprit
    give it a good clean
i find my 1.2 "hunting" at idle somedays i think my throttle body may need a clean
