    Default Average exaust life time

    Hi people!
    One question,
For the 1.6, for how long do your exaust box / system usually lasts?
I guess sooner or later I'll have to think on that on mine! :D
What can I do? The car is used to be soiled!! lol

Very much depends if its genuine or aftermarket replacement part..genuine as a rule use thicker metal/material in the parts so will last longer and I have heard of them lasting 5 years from new ..after market replacement usually dont last more than a couple of years there is a hole at the bottom of the back boxes that allows water to drain off so dont confuse this with a rotting back box..flexi joints seem to be the main problem area on the stilo systems but they can be replaced after cutting out the old one ..

Generally the higher the mileage you cover the longer they seem to last from experience. But as Phil has said, seems to be the flexi bits that fail the most.

Agree Jon..this why taxi drivers exhaust systems last a lot longer than the every day motorist..they rarely cool down..

Lol. Mum always makes me laugh. When ever she talks about het Yaris she goes it's nearly 10 years old with 130k on the clock. Never gone wrong and it's still got the origional exhaust. Lol.

Infortunatly we've yet to have a Fiat do more than a few years lol. My Stilos flexi pipe went around Christmas (just under 6 years old) but the rest seems solid enough touch wood.

LMAO yaris........The flexi pipe does seems to be the weaket point on the stilo zorst (if peeps do replace one get it done by kwikfit as they do a 3 yr guarantee/F1 autocenters 2 yrs)

So... My stilo with 100K under clock... and going for 9 years still with all original!
And first years it didn't made too much km's.
So... seems a good run for the exaust... Definitly sooner I'll have to think on that! lol :)

    Indeed!
Of course this is a lot less rain than in UK. I know.
But given the fact the car had a very low milage on its first years... I think the exaust had a good run... Of course I would want more... but from what I'm seeing here... I think it's not below average... "deducting the rain factor"! :D
