I would stay on the factory suggestion.
    Selenia 20K.

I've been using them years now (not only on my Stilo) and NEVER let me down!

Fiat Tipo 1.4 ie (Dad's): ~370000 Km (still running)

    and a Fiat Idea 1.4 16v (Mom's) don't know exact milage.

Never had oil related problems with any of theese!

Selenia home site recomends Selenia K for the 1.8 which is a 5w 40 fully synthetic oil this oil is recomended by fiat for their cars and alfa as well..it can be expensive to use but ebay usually do some deals on it..a good alternative is mobil oil in the same spec which I now use and many of the alfa lads use as well..always payes to check the hand book cos in there it will give you the correct spec of oil to use..I joined this site a few years ago and have had some good buy's with them..

engine oil, motor oil, gear oil, car oil, motorbike oil, transmission fluid from oilman at Opie Oils

    Selenia home site is..

Mobil oils are very good and TBH quite surprised to see Quickfit use such a very good oil like that I half expected a cheapo mineral oil from them..the price you paid for the oil and filter change was something of a bargain..excellent..

i use the amsoil afl 5-40. for 2000+km it is still all there, and the car is more quiet now. i also noticed a slight drop in consumption, but i think it is because i changed to a more economic driving style!
