As its coming upto 5 years old (in March) I've instructed my trusty mechanic to do the following:
> Full Service
> Cambelt with waterpump replacement
> New radiator
£500 for the lot to be done.
I have been told it needs new discs and pads at the front and the rears will hang in a bit longer. Now this is something I can do myself so not too bad. The upside is the HG is fine and the Stilo lives on to fight another day!
There you go Insy ..pretty much what we all suspected..isnt it shocking tho that parts these days dont seem to last anytime at all..and we are living in a throw away society..when not so long ago you could repair things rather consign them to the scrap heap..
Glad you got it all sorted tho and the stilo lives on..

I know, its odd as the radiator isn't rusty (as far as I could tell) and all the fins were in great nick. Pity these things just get chucked.

No doubt when you eventually get it out and inspect it you will find a little crack somewhere..know how you feel sickening isnt it..

It seems to be the plastic sides that go on the Stilo rads. Equally sisters Panda (same age as my Stilo, to the day of registration which was a funny coincidence) has just had to have a replacement radiator also although that seemed to be the fins.
