First of all this is my first post ever so im sorry if this is the wrong place, as when i was doing some research i saw some please put things in the wrong places and other wernt happy --- so first sorry incase...

now the car. - well first is had a flat batterie about 4 times in two weeks.. quick jump start and off i went.... nothing happened after that for about 3 weeks when i get back of holiday. im driving along when my dash say. alternator fail.... and the power steering failed at the same time. .... this happened on and off for two day untill --- dead ---

i was towed home, were my brother helped to jump started it with jump leaded this time and after about a 5 min charge i managed to get it to kick over and drive it to my uncles garage. here we done some tested and couldnt find anything wrong... never the less we put a new batterie in and everything was fine.... (also by tests we checked alternator) some been fine now for say 4-5 day --- and then today hits me.... same problem.... now power steering..

now i think it may be the alternator but i seen lots of people have had this problem on the net but know one is saying how they fixed it. after they fixed it they seem to forget to post back.......

so doe any one have any advice for a desprate man for just paid £600 for a new door as some turnip decided nopt to look!!! and doesnt want to pay out for anything else~!!!!!

If the alternator fails then the lack of charge will cause the power Steering to fail. Have you Checked the connectors on the back of the alternator that they're all clean and making a good contact?

I'm a bit worried that they're going by what the dash says and haven't actually done a propper diagnostics .

Have you check fuses for the charging system? A friend though his alternator on his 2002 Fiesta had gone, change alternator at £55 for the part and had the same issue only to find it was a blown fuse

glad you got sorted out mate.
headlight bulbs are a pain in the arse especially on the passenger side
best way in my opinion to change headlight bulbs is to remove the front bumper and remove the headlights and change them that way

I'm with Scottie on the headlight bulb changing method.
