hello

just changed the fuel filter on my 1.9 JTD multiwagon as it was starting to run rough on startup.
while struggling to get the sensor thing off the bottom of the filter (who thought of putting a metal clip in such a stupid place) i noticed that it wasn't connected to anything.
once i got the filter out of the way i had a look and found 3 wee wires sitting broken zipped tied to a pipe.
now the cars been running fine without these and changing the filter has resolved the issue with the rough start up but can someone tell me what the wires are for. is it just a water sensor or something???
never had any warning lights on the dash.

it is the water sensor and after speaking to a very nice fiat dealer who informed me that it wasnt an issue and just to leave it.
