Default non return values in the fuel system

Anyone know if/where there are any non return values in the diesel fuel system.

the garage i took the car too thinks i may have an issue with fuel draining back into the tank when the cars been parked up for a few hours.
it starts fine but when you put your foot down on the gas it stutters till the turbo kicks in then it goes like a rocket.
they presume the issue is before the fuel filter, can't find anything in eper or in the electronic manual.
    cheers

Fuel running back to the tank shouldn't cause issues once the cars running only really on start up. But with the pumps the car has even then there shouldn't be to much of an issue if fuel runs back and returns to the tank. Tbh I'd have said it's probably another issue causing the stuttering.

i have to be say that i agree with you. it just doesn't add up but i thought i would tick the box and say i had ruled it out.
there are three area's that i am thinking could be the issue
    1) blocked injectors
    2) a faulty glow plug
    3) a possbile crack in the cylinder head, no water lose but could it be in the oil side???
i have came to these three options by searching on the net.
i have tried to use better quality fuel (Esso / BP ) to see if that cleans anything and also added some miller fuel additive yesterday to see if this helps. fingers crossed.

    Any suggestions more than welcome.

Does it stutter all the time or just when cold? If it's not the latter then it won't be the glow plugs.

    Just when cold.
I have noticed a slight improvement when starting the passed few days with it being warm but wasn't sure if it was the better fuel that was contributing to it or the warmer weather.
From what I've read glow plugs seem to be a pain to change.

Sounds like it could be the glow plugs then. :(

Think I've figured it out, the turbo died on the M6 while going to Scotland on holiday, it kindly blew all of the oil through the engine so thank god I stopped as soon as I did.
Got the garage looking at it so I'll soon find out how much it's going to cost to fix :-(
Out of interest, is the cambelt connected to the turbo? If so I get it changed at the same time.

I wouldn't have thought the cambelt would be connected to the turbo. Bummer about the turbo blowing. Keep us updated.

I was getting confused with a super charger as they are belt driven (I wonder if I could fit one to the stilo )
Turbo runs from the exhaust gases.
Well the garage have looked at it and said the turbo has well and truly died, they aren't sure what damage has been done to the engine due to the lack of oil but since I stopped straight away I am praying that I've got away with it.
Still waiting on a price for a reconditioned turbo, they seem to be a tad rare.
    We wait and see.

Well not only has the turbo gone but the engine has seized.
So the garage have been doing some hunting for me and sourced a 115 JTD engine and turbo with 38k on the clock.
Going to fit it next week for me.
Getting them to change the cam belt and clutch at the same time.
Getting charged £1,000 which I hope is a good deal taking into account the price for just a turbo I think it is.
Will get them to take the glow plugs out of the old engine as they only got put in the day before the turbo died.
Can't wait to get her back as the Wife's hyundia Getz is just far to small/slow/cramped/thirsty/basic
