engine conversion

iv brought a 1.6 stilo and tastefully modded it to its present state but the head gasket has gone and i was wondering if its possible to put the 2.4 into it or if not maybe the 1.8???

also would a manual box off another fiat fit as im not a fan of the sele speed had it on my alfa...

Hi. It's not viable due to the need to refit the whole electrical system from the donor car, including body computer etc for the engine to work.

A HG isn't major work so I'd get it changed and keep it as it is.

i thought you would have to swap over the gearbox also, i think all in it would be cheaper to buy a decent abarth with a manual box...

I wasn't aware thatyou needed to change the entire loom I was hoping you could just plug the abarth into the original loom

Would the 1.8 be a better option as I can get hold of a engine and fit myself for same price as doing the head gasket
