Thread: EOBD Software

Hi all,

I want to disable/reset the airbag indicator of my fiat punto (1996) by using a cable.
Bought the needed cables however don't have the right software...

Any ideas ??

You '96 Punto doesnt use EOBD, nor do any cars for airbags. Depending on the airbag ecu you may be able to use software such as KWP71diag from SanderQV, but other than that you will need a professional garage solution or connection to the Examiner / Examiner Smart.

Look for the unidiag group on Yahoo groups, all Sander's software is on there.

Thanks for the quick replay, tried the KWP71 diag software, however unable to start communication with the car.

If what scotty says doesnt work, double check you have connected to the right three pin connector.

Do you have the model number of the airbag ECU, or if you like PM me the VIN number of the vehicle, should be able to tell what protocol it uses from the part number.

I now have my copy of Eper running... Replacing that asterisk with a 0 gives me Punto 1.7TD 5door, is that right?

If so it should be a TRW airbag ECU, think its supported by fiatecuscan, but im sure his software only really supports 97+ Fiats.. Worth a try
