Default 1,2 & 3 setting not working on blower??

Hi, I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. My heater blower only blows on speed setting “4”, 1,2 and 3 don’t work at all. I have checked the fuse in the engine bay but that’s ok but obviously if it was that then it wouldn’t work at all, I have also removed the actual switch that controls the speed and took it apart for inspection but everything looks ok so very confused why it doesn’t blow on 1,2 & 3 but works fine on the fast number 4 setting?

Sounds like resistor pack. A common issue, as to where its located though I'm not sure.

Yep, as I say, not sure where it is but it's common of the symptoms you say on lots of different cars, not just Fiat. Resistors slow the fan speed on speeds 1,2&3 and speed 4 is full wack so not on a resistor, hence it's ability to still function.

yeh been told by lots of people that the punto does suffer from this problem, it was like this when i bought the car 3 weeks ago and it was pointed out to me but thought it would be the switch or something silly. anyhow i have found the location of where it is so will be looking into getting a replacement from ebay. thanks for your help, much appreciated.
