A few aggravating squeaks
As the weathers warming up i think it's time to start sorting out my baby.
The first is a squeak that sounds as if it's coming from behind the upper glovebox, i have checked the coil spring and there isn't a bit jingling about, so what else could it be?
The second squeak comes from both front wheels. When i lock over to the left or right i get a horrible squeaking noise, but it's not when i lock over stationary or slowly, it seems to be when under load (about 10mph) What are the possible cuprits? Drop links, track rod ends?
Thanks in advanced guys

Re: A few aggravating squeaks
Not sure on the first one, but the second one could well be the top suspension mounts. Have a similar sound intermittently (always the easiest ones to work out of course) and made a thread about it... http://www.clubfiat.net/tech/3005-an...ak-me-out.html

Re: A few aggravating squeaks
When one of my top suspension mounts wasnt put back right it gave me more of a chirping noise. Like a squashed budgie stuck under the wheel. Not saying the noise would be the same but something to compare the sound to?

Re: A few aggravating squeaks
To line them up i stick an allan key down the hole in the engine bay, then into the hole on the top mount and line up from under the arch puttiung the grove obviously to the center.
This could already be said in the linked thread but only did a little scroll as thats what i read to fix mine.

Re: A few aggravating squeaks
Well, with mine certainly it's more like a creak almost similar to a dodgy bed spring
But then sometimes it does a worryingly more metallic sound. Sometimes it seems linked to going over bumps at normal road speeds, other times it's just a normal fairly flat road surface and the sound seemingly varies from day to day. Not really enjoying driving the car at the moment because of it as I'm worried that a) something more serious is going to develop and b) I'll lose all of the very few pennies I have in my bank account getting it fixed. The wonders of owning a car that never wants to fully work properly.
