Maximum Manifold Pressure
This morning I was unable to start my car, I ended up calling the AA, and surprise surprise the thing started second time for him, he said it was because it was low on fuel (uhh my bad), well to make the journey and call worth while I asked him if he had a diagnostic tool to diagnose an engine fault that I was kept being warned about.
He said it showed up as a fault temperature sensor, and something about 'Maximum Manifold Pressure' what does this mean?
Thanks :-).

Re: Maximum Manifold Pressure
Second one is probably MAP sensor ..comes up as PO105..we really need the codes to help you..but both faults might just be dirty connections which fiats are famous for..try unplugging both sensors and giving the contacts a clean with contact cleaner..I take it its a 1.6 engine this one..? if it is then it might also need a flash at a fiat dealer to check if the ecu and throttle body updates were done on it [eary model stilo's] because this can affect the map sensor as well..

fiat stilo 1.6 map sensor - Google Product Search
But beware inserting a new sensor doesnt always cure the problem..try and get someone to plug a code reader into your ecu and take down what codes are logged in there then delete the codes and see what happens..

Map sensor is Number 1 in the pic..

Thanks again for the information! Before I got the change to look at it my battery decided to die, my fault leaving the radio and the air con on in a jet wash, well again I asked the AA man if he had a diagnostic tool O:-), this time he asked me the make and model of the car (the last one didn't), and thus time it came up with fuel level sensor, I ain't really had a problem with the fuel tho, so the nice AA man cleared it for me and bow I have no engine management light! Saved me about £60! :-).

Ha..I love a happy ending..just for the record I use a gendan scanner .. Engine Fault Code Reader for all 2001+ petrol and 2004+ diesel cars (GCR05) cheap as chips and saved me a packet for a while now..

I think your best bet would be to contact people like gendan for their opinion..let us know how you get on with this one..
