stilo 1.6 new clutch
Hi probably been answered previously however unable to find any link. I had my clutch replaced
06-09-2011 due to really bad slippage. Car is like brand new until yesterday when coming out of 40mph average speed camera's on A92 slipped car into 3rd pedal down to accelerate and just after 3000rpm's it slipped again. It does drive normally when not putting any acceleration on engine however when trying to force car and rev's are over 3000rpm's it is doing this. I have a lifetime guarantee on clutch should i be worried at the moment or see if it does get worse before contacting warranty company. Any comments appreciated.

I'd contact the place that sold you it / fitted it.

Clutch has now been redone under warranty. Garage manager advised grease from bearing has caused the problem although mechanic reckons could be oil from gearbox. Surely they would have checked if this was the case would they not. Anyway i was advised if it does happen again i would require a new gearbox but would it not just be a new seal to replace old one and if it was any other reason would they not have told me i needed one now before putting in new clutch? Could the bearing actually have been causing my clutch slipping problems.

Shouldn't need a new gearbox if it's a clutch issue. Like you say, should just change a seal if there is some sort of a leak.
