I'm happy and sad at the same time to say that the fiat stilo multiwagon is no more.
after almost 3 years of motoring during which time I sang the cars praises for its excellent flexibility, its MPG, its space, its comfort, its innovation in design but I also spent many a day swearing at it with a hatred only seen at old firm football matches, today I pay for my new car (Vauxhall meriva).
I have to say, the Fiat stilo multiwagon is a GREAT CAR and would be an excellent car had it been built by any other company that FIAT (my personal opinion) but the fiat build quality and electrical gremlins let my car down in a big way.
Over the period that I owned this car I have had constant issues with the alarm, heated wing mirrors, squeaky dash, windscreen wipers, random rattles, broken boot locks, stiff doors, cold hands while driving (no matter what the heater/fan/vent settings), the fancy boot release handle, dual zone heater, wind noise through the door, HEADLIGHTS , and last but not least a turbo that died and took the engine with it.

Now it could have just been a bit of serious bad luck that all of the garages I went to failed to fix the issues that they all said they couldn't figure out why it was doing what it was doing.

I will give you one parting piece of information, if you have a JTD engine and you get the occasional "low oil pressure" warning which they garage say is a faulty sensor, and when you start it up cold it runs rough and produces a pile of white smoke for a few minutes till she’s has a bit of heat and the garage says it’s a glow plug issue, then DON'T believe them, stop the car and get the turbo looked at.
My turbo collapsed on itself will doing 70mph on the M6.

Now I know for every one bad experience there are loads of people out there with trouble free motoring and I hope that you all get to go down the smooth road rather than the farm track that I found.

Thank you for all of the advice and help you have given to me

all the best for the future.
