Cool Changing your OEM air filter

    Hello members and guests..:)

Time to change that air filter on your stilo..the stilo uses two different applications one on top of the engine and one under the battery tray..so lets look first at the two types used..

This is the type used by the 1.2/4..

And this is used on the 1.6..

    This is the 1.8..

    And finally the 2.4..

The 1.2/4 is the easy one being located on top of the engine.and to get at the filter you need to undo the three screws at the front of the airbox..pull the front section of the box out towards you and remove and replace the filter..simply screw back the three screws and the job is done..:)

The other models are more involved and require the removal of the under tray..[refer to guide for bumper removal ]..

Ok the car's jacked up tray is off and you are now going to go under and get dirty.. look under the battery tray to your left and you will find the airbox..you need to locate two clips that hold the two parts of the box together [see JTD diagram others are the same] once the clips are sprung pull apart the one section [lid] from the other slip out the filter clean out any loose debris and replace the filter with a nice new one..push the two section back together and clip back the spring clips.. replace the under tray and job done..:)

Warning.. the procedure varies in difficulty and fiddly at best but from info given by JTD owners the JTD is the worst due to less space because of the resonator box fitted to the bottom of the airbox..

    Regards

    PNL.
