Hi peeps we are going to replace a coil today so first off lets see what the coil looks like..
On the left is where it pushes onto the spark plug..top right is a lug where it screws to the engine [held in with a bolt] bottom right hand side is where the electrical supply clips into the coil..
This is a view of your engine..
On the left is the cover over the engine and it needs to be removed to get to the coils..its usually held in place with 4x torx bolts or dome headed 10mm nuts/washers and if you haven't got any spanners try and borrow a set..now with the cover off you can see this..
See the four blue leads running across the centre of the engine follow them and they will connect to the coils..they are numbered 1 to 4 from left to right..now select the coil to be removed and unclasp the electrical cable going to it..now with that done take a 10mm ring spanner or 10mm socket and ratchet and undo and remove the 10mm bolt holding in the coil..watch you don't drop it.. now pull the coil upwards and off the spark plug and it will come out with a pop..now insert the new coil and push down on it to locate it on the spark plug.. turn the coil to line up the hole for the holding in bolt on the coil to the engine and screw in the bolt and tighten it down..reattach the electrical cable/connection to the coil and you have just changed you first coil..WOOT!!!
Refit the engine cover with the four torx bolts or dome headed nuts and the jobs a good one..![]()
