Hi, if anyone is wondering how to get a switched live form there aftermarket stereo, i have the answer.

Need to take my stereo out to get picks but i will show you.

You take a feed off the yellow wire on the ignition barrel, and join that to one of the wires on the stereo wiring loom.

Take the plastic cover off the steering column

On the left hand side of the steering column you will see 5 coloured wires on a white connector block type affair

1x Orange
2.x Blue
1x Red and
1x Black

It is the Orange wire we wish to use, if you have a spare piece of wire (standard speaker cable will do) push this in next to the Orange wire and using some insulation tape, secure the wire on to the orange wire so that it wont fall out.

On the dash next to the steering column you will see a little plastic cubbyhole, this just pulls out (with a little effort), then you can push this wire behind the hole in the dash you just created and then up through into the stereo compartment

Once there you connect the wire to the red wire on the back of the ISO lead.

1xYellow
1xBlack
1xRed and
1xBlue

Push the wire next to the Red wire on the ISO lead and secure in to place using some more insulation tape, plug it all back in you should have a switched live.

On with ignition and Off with ignition

Hope this helps

(please note this was for a SONY headunit but should also work for other types)
