Hello all,

Just yesterday bought an 02 Stilo 1.6 Dynamic and I've got a question. Couldn't find an answer elsewhere on the forum - sorry if it's already been answered!

It came with the standard Stilo tape-playing stereo, which would be fine if I had any tapes. In my previous car I had an MP3 CD player, and looking in the stereo manual for the Stilo I note that there's an MP3-CD-playing stereo made by Fiat for the Stilo.

Does anyone know where I could get hold of one of these? Of course eBay might have one eventually but there's been nothing for a while. Do Fiat stock them, and if so, are they going to rip me off?

The main question to ask is of course if it's worth getting one of these, or if they're rubbish! I'd rather keep the Stilo look-and-feel than replace the HU with something non-Fiat.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. Saw a thread elsewhere from 2003 quoting £350 for the mp3 one... hopefully that's gone down a bit, but I'll see what Fiat have to say tomorrow. I'll look out for the connect nav+; would that work with my model? (forgive me, but I don't know if all stilo stereos work with all stilos).

The other way round it would be a dension gateway 100, its around £100 and connects to your standard player though the cd changer plug and lets u plug in your ipod/ mp3 player.

Ah, that's exactly the thing, thanks very much. Didn't expect it to be that expensive! Still, £175 beats £300 I guess. Now you've got me thinking about the Connect Nav+ too... hmm. I'll keep an eye on ebay! Cheers.

I got my MP3 CD player from Sound master and it is cheaper than fiat by a big margin.

I was lucky and got the silver faced version same as my old non MP3 Cd player.

Firstly, it isnt the super rare "X box" version which has a more powerful amp but this came along.

it is worth wating for because you can display all the singer/album/track info and will also be shown on the dasgboard display.

I also up graded the standard speakers with the "bose" speaker option and they are straight swop over. the tweeters are a hell of alot bigger than the standard ones!

It is the cheapest/easiest ICE upgrade, no cutting or wiring at all as its all standard. I play my music at sensable levels so i dont want to go mental and fit stupid size stuff. At least i know all the ICE will still be there when i climb into the stilo in the morning and it isn`t nicked!

Thanks, folgore. So I take it that you managed to get the genuine Fiat part? Do you have a web address/etc for Sound Master? And what sort of price are we talking?

The last point you made about not having the whole thing nicked is also really important to me - with my last car, taking the face with me every time was a massive pain in the backside.

Ooh... interesting. Do you have a pic? (or is it just the standard stilo black one)? How much you looking for?

I should add, yes I'm after the MP3 one, but anything is better than the tape. There's only so much Michael Jackson's Bad album and Genesis that I can listen to (20 pence tapes at the car boot - oh yes).
