Default Single Din's and wiring adaptors

was going to replace the standard stilos stereo for a single din Pioneer unit i have already from previous car

was looking at the bluespot facia adaptor

has anybody fitted one of these and do they match the surounding plastic ok ?

do i need any wiring adaptors it says March 2002 onwards not required the car is a feb 2002
i cant find any wiring adaptors eitherway

is it possible to use the standard blaukpunt 6 disc in the glovebog with a aftermarket head unit (well Pioneer at least)

does the standard radio come out easy enough ?

    sorry for all the questions

    J

Can't comment on many of the questions but I've fitted a double din into mine. Head unit was easy to remove and the fascia just about fitted without issue.

I installed an Alpine DVD unit and it didn't need any ISO adapters - seems to be good to go from the offset.

hi J Max, i fitted a single din LG unit 2 and a half years ago from what i can recall i didnt need any wiring adapter, the standard double din was an absolute pig to remove. took halfords about 2 hours all in all, i used the autoleads fasia adapter looks the same as yours, it blends in with the surrounding dash pretty well and the little pocket underneath is only good for holding your mobile phone. will take a pic tomorrow if you wish,

    Pic would be good thanks

thought the slot would be to small for anything but should break up the dash a bit might look a little to bland without

yeah it does break it up, as i said only thing its good for is holding your mobile phone
i will get a pic up this evening as i dont have the stilo here drivin the focus today.
on the autoleads catalogue it shows the fascia blank with no hole and it does look bland, just a big slab of black plastic. but it came with the hole, i think it cost me £14 from halfords but you can get them online for cheaper. the autoleads fascia's really are a good fit so i cannot comment on the fascia you are thinking of but it looks the same as the one i have.

I've changed mine over to one that looks the same as urs got it of ebay for £10.
Dont bother with the radio keys to get the original out just use some bits of wire coat hanger. I brought the keys and they didnt fit :(

    Heres a guide i used

nope no wring adapter, follow my guide for a switched live and you cant go wrong, even though its for sonys, there more or less the same

i had a bluespot(blaupunkt) adapter, it used 2 single din slots, for a stereo and seperate screen like i had, or you could use the full size tray for the second slot that it came with, unlike the one above, which is usefull a chuddy packet, not much else

and i do beleive stu got the wiring guide idea from my guide which is
now removed from there, but its here, theiving, wotsit
