Long shot
I'm going for a long shot here but is there a way i can replace the built in cd changer i got in my 02 abarth, for an aftermarket stereo?
Reason being i wan't to upgraqde the poor standard system without removing the sat nav unit, which is a handy feature.
Cheers,
Ricky

Re: Long shot
Shouldnt be too difficult.
I would reroute the power and audio cables to the back of upper glove compartment, as well as the FM aerial. But you will need to tap into some of the power cables to create a seconds ISO to power the CN+ as well as the other stereo.
YOu could also run the audio outputs from the CN+ into a line level converter/driver and then run them into the AUX on your new headunit, so you can have the directions if needs be.
Its all on how savvy you are with wiring diagrams, but easily achievable with a little time and swearing.
If its something you fancy doing for sure give us a shout back and Ill fill you in on what youll need from where, budget £15 tops for all the connectors etc.
My only concern would be the power consumption. I have run the CN+ on my desk and to make the unit run stable and use the nav CD it needed 4 amps of current.
Stack that on top of whatever the other headunit is taking it could be too much for the wiring.
Food for though anyway.
