Default Head Unit + Steering wheel

    Hey everyone,

i was just thinking. i have got a jvc cd player instead of the original one and i was wondering , in order to make the buttons on the steering wheel work, what would be the required equipment or what stereos make the steering wheel functions work.

    Thanks

Yes, either through an amp with high-level inputs or through a line-level converter..

Dont think JVC do an adapter for the Stilo.

Basically the Stilo sends the steering commands over canbus, so you need a canbus adapter to convert it to whatever protocol your radio understands.. From looking around only clarion and kenwood do them that support the Stilo, ones for other fiat models will not work.

Like I said, as far as I know only Clarion and Kenwood offer steering control adapters. They just plug into the can bus cables round the back of the radio and the other end connects to the remote input.

Basically anthing that is Kenwood or Clarion will work.

See here Fiat Stilo fitting adaptor

and here Fiat Stilo installation adaptor

If you look on the pages they will tell you which models are supported by the adapters.

    Good luck

To add to this thread... Can anyone give me a part number or a link to the lead required to hook up a steering wheel with buttons to the Visteon CD unit?

Its all already in the car - If you havent touched the original wiring its all there. The steering controls run through canbus. So as long as CAN is working on the radio, they should work.
