has any1 of you have had installed a rear view camera for the dvd units in the car before?
as i'm thinking about getting one and doing it myself as it doesnt require to have spec. qualification for that job
if so can any1 tell me best spots for it or any tips plz

Hi mate, i'd have though installing it in teh number plate light unit (Unless you have a split glass tailgate) would be a good spot, as there loads of room to run the wires etc nd the camera would be quite descreet

indeed not a bad location, but alot of playing with the wiring...
i was thinking to put it right under the bumper screw it up properly and make the hole somewhere under the back seats to put the wires throught, well my brain of avic is under the back seat aswell, so it would help to connect it also.
but what about the wires, is it gonna be live in the reverse light that i'll need to get?

I Installed just such a setup on my car. I've put a TFT rear view mirror in the car, and the camera is mounted under the rear bumper. It seems to work just fine! Seems to have done something weird to the stereo as it now won't turn off and i've got a flat battery. Really cool hit of kit and useful for avoiding low obstacles, especially give the rear parking sensors are useless on my car!

well that must be somekind of weiring issue... what stereo do you have?

A connect Nav Plus. I have just swapped it our for a replacement nav+ unit, and it powers down fine. I think it was the stereo being stuffed that caused the problems!

Now all I need is the master code for the new connecr nav+ unit.
