Default Removal of original CD player unit

I know this might sound daft, but the removal keys will get the CD player out wont they? Only mine isnt budging... I've been trying to wriggle it out using the removal keys and only one side of the head unit seems like its coming out... This is really annoying. Is it just a case of wriggling like mad till it gives way? lol

i think even a piece of thick wire would do, it should come out without any probs, at least mine did, i dont think theres any threads on the guides as there's no big job in it, i would just try to pull it off a bit harder, if not just go to a garage and they should take it out in a few mins

Hmmm, well I went to a ICE specialist today and they said that the reason I'm having problems is due to the fact that whoever made an attempt before me, bent something inside the removal holes and theres nothing to aid pulling it out... He suggested snapping the front off to get it out... I really didnt want to do that. I'll pop by a Fiat dealer sometime and see what they can suggest. I do have the CN+ to put in, but if its not gonna work, then I would've ruined my CD player for nothing lol.

uhh, that's not too good, well you could try to take out the glovebox, then you would reach one side of the stereo, maybe would fiddle it out somehow

Hmmm, I have a CD changer in mine.. If I took out that whole section, would it be accessable from there?

what i did was cut a wire coat hanger up. cut 4 pieces about 6 inches long and basically ram them into the holes in the head unit untill the locking tabs click open and get a flat head screw driver and go around the player and prise out the played from the dash gently. IIRC if you take the top glove box out you cannot get into the back of the player.

but the locking tabs are located on the sides or are they?
i just remember when taking mine out, it went in 2mins., well after that when wiring everything had to take the glovebox and could reach the aftermarket stereo quite easy, althou the original is in big casing isnt it...

iirc there is a 3inch hole you may be able to get your hand into from the top of the glove box. im just not too sure as i havent been near my breaker in ages
