thanks for the feed, i have 13 players now dating back to the first video machine in 2002 (i have an av700 here as well somewere - not the best of machines tbh but ideal for the daughter to use on those long journeys now where is that big thing). archos are really good machines though - my latest has wifi gps bluetooth and android..... it a shame i didint have the bluetooth hu in the stilo as im sure it would have been even easier to hook it up. this unit may nor may not do the job im unsure there. i think it maybe phones only.

yep the itunes is the killer for me, i cant stand having that bloatware any where near my computer - drag and drop to folders is a million time easier and quicker.

ive got a few sd cards - a couple of 8gb cards may just be good enough to store a load of music, i think having anything bigger than that would actually be a waste as it can only view so much.... maybe a better aftermarket head unit maybe the real ticket here - they are only a few quid more and have more functions.
i suppose i will have to research it some more.

then you have to sync to put the stuff on the ipod, one move with the archos and most other mp3 player, two step with bloatware between (itunes) and sloowww. lol

errr Hello?, You still need to actually install the s**t that is itunes to be able to drag and drop, in itunes lol.

Like Roy says, drag and drop in windows explorer or whatever would make the ipod much more desirable

Well you 2 just need to enable your ipods for disk use lol I do get your point but i like it I guess tis a matter of choice.

having used stuff like the creative mp3/philips stuff etc I have grown to love the ipod that I've had all of the big ones starting with the 3rd gen stuff

Even in disc mode you still cannot add MP3 files to the ipod and actually play them, it just lets you use it as a USB mass storage device.

Just got myself some LCD screen thingy majig from bestoffers.com or whatever it is... Plan to play around with that and set something up. I just sold my Ipod Touch, fantastic piece of kit, but I didn't use it enough to justify the price I paid for it lol. I haven't seen the Archos players yet
