Default Standard cd player - noises

Hmmm - on way home tonight the CD player started making weird noises.... took out CD and listened to Radio 2 (well, I am in my 30s :D ) but figured I'd give Mr Jarre another listen.
Worked fine - had an error message flash up at one point - but it played fine. When I got home and shut everything down the cd player made some nasty whirring type noises after it was turned off :-\

I wonder if this is a taste of a 'spy' problem about to start ::)

    Anyone experienced something similar ???

My multi changer used to make weird noises like you've described when i reset, normally when turning ignition on in the morning.
Have you got the blaupunkt multi changer or not?

in the bin!! crappy horrid thing, novel idea though.

ABZ, why dont you save up a bit for a CN+?

regarding your problem, i've a feeling its the lens, either scratched or just dirty. my CN is starting to do what your describing, but i am yet to clean the lens.

so buy yourself one of those lens kits and report back ;)

It's tempting.... but I don't like the price even after I've saved up :o I'd need the steering wheel controls as well wouldn't I?

This has been done, but made no significant difference..... however, it wasn't a splt-new cleaner I used the one I have for my PC so may treat myself to a new one and try it again 8)
