on my way home tuesday night my stereo (pioneer avic x1r) died. just turned off mid song. i have checked all connections and they all seem fine. all fuses i can see in the wire behind the h/u seem to be in tact.

there is no power to the h/u or the amps. any ideas or suggestions?

does it not come atal??, not even light up?

were you getting the power for the amp?? power under the bonnet? ifso check your bat connection?

im pretty sure there are fuses in the fusebox on the right side of the dash? check those?

check your switched live, you must have one to be powering the amp, that can mess with all sorts, if its your amp and head unit i would defo say fuse in the car, if one went in the head unit then the amp would work and vice versa, so i would defo say a car fuse. ;)

i cant say without seeing it ???

Have you a relay on the remote turn on wire which turns the amps on, i found out many years ago when i use to compete in SPL that you can draw to much current to power the amp/amps and burn the head unit out therefore no power, i would recomend a relay for sure, if thats no where near the problem you've try looking at under bonnet fuses, they may look ok ( the glass ones that is) but they can go week at each end not just at the middle`

well ive also noticed the interior lights have stopped working too?

i have the amps powered by the battery with a remote turn on from the h/u but the time it went down it was nowhere near full?

so which fuses would i be checking?

You should have the fuse lay out on the back of the fuse box cover and you should be able to find out which fuse does what then find the fuse check and replace with same size.....has your fag lighter stopped working too by any chance

It should do but then again it is italian.....just look through the fuses and find the blown one and replace...think it should be a 15amp one

Well you people were right. Fuse F39 Was blown. £2.49 (and 4 fuses that i didnt need) later the stereo and lights now work! :)
