That must have been one mental pothole! Might be worth contacting your local council for compensation!
Got any pics of the damage?
ill get pics up tonite, cant claim off council as there was a yellow marker around the hole (means they know about it and are in the process of fixing it or somthing stupid like that)
it was about 8 inches deep and about 2 foot long and 3 feet wide, real monster. hit it about 65mph lucky i had a trolley jeck in the boot, god them standard scissor jacks are crap.
im ripping i know a lad that can fix them for about 50quid but dont know if its worth fixing, i'll get pics up tonite of the rim when i get the tyre pulled off the rim. tyre is 100%

Personally I'd rather have a new alloy rather than a repaired one. Structurally it would be more sound. Thats not to say a professional repair wouldn't be ok, its just a peace of mind thing.
I'm surprised the tyre is ok as well. For the force to damage the wheel so badly, its surprising there isn't damage to the tyre. Again, I'd be personally inclined to replace the tyre.
When the tyre is off the wheel, you'll probably get a better indication of the state of play.
got the tyre off the rim i'll throw up pics later, yeah tyre is 100% and still got 4to5mm thread left on it as soon as i hit the hole i stopped the car. it felt like i put the strut through the tower.

:yikes: new alloy time me thinks.
Front OS alloy on mine got wrecked when the tow company took RGZ to the garage to get the suspension repaired. Ended up grinding the whole inside of the alloy. Though it wasn't the garage's fault, they went halves on the repair, so got a totally refurbed alloy for £25.
Anyway though, hope you get something sorted.
yeah i have the company i got the wheels of sourcing me a new one guy says he'll do a wheel for £100 all in so i'll be gettin it for around £85 when i get the vat off not too bad
