HDMI Switch/Splitter? hi guys looking for a HDMI switch/splitter to hook up to my tv as i'm running PS3 and Xbox360, its a pain changing the cable at the back of the tv to switch from one console to the other.
question is do they all support 1080p and would there be any loss of signal quality?

They arent all 1080p compatible. I got one from Aldi for £6.99 that was a 3 way autoswitch and it was 1080p compatible luckily.
You wont get any degredation of the signal either, just make sure you use 1080p compatible cables both to and from the switch.
Amazon/ebay are far cheaper than the shops Ive found.

Ill go to aldi at the weekend. If theyve got one do you want me to buy it and just give me the £6.99 and Ill post it to you? Defiantely 1080p Im running a 360, HD-DVD and cable through it.
They come with a remote and remote eye as well if you want to manually control it, but it autoswitches so dont need it.

i've been looking on Ebay and i cant find any for handy money that look any good they all look like they've been thrown together. you know what i mean

Re: HDMI Switch/Splitter? no games run @ 720p, there are guys out there have got a couple of games to run 1080p but there is alot of farting about with the firmware involved. dont know why sony or microsoft didnt bring the games out in 1080p in the first place
Re: HDMI Switch/Splitter? Virtua Tennis is 1080p on the 360 im sure it says on the pack, as is SF4.
Most games though are just upscaled by the internal hardware, so the output is 1080p but internally the game is rendered in 480p or 720p.
Either way, you want the capabiloty of it as it means that the swich can handle the higher amount of bandwith required for those resolutions.
These Aldi/Medion switches also allow Bravia Sync/Regza Link/Whatever passthru.
Ill go have a look on Saturday mate and let you know.
