Forgive me 3 door-ers
I just became very tempted by a 5 door 1.6 on eBay. £2000, 51K, FSH, 1.6 AC, in great nick. I've never been tempted by a 5 door before, but it looks quite good, apart from non original wheel trims and what looks like a black fuel flap on a silvery blue car. And it's a 52 plate, so could be open to several issues.

Well after owning a 5dr I can only say you cant go wrong with one if its a good un ..the price it was up for is actually the trade book price on a car of that year ..and anyone who cant see the value a car like this represents want their heads read ..

Re: Forgive me 3 door-ers
That's the thing...I think it's outstanding value, and of course being a 1.6 it's easier to find good modifying parts. I'm going to hang on for the minute and have a bit of a save then look next year I think. Plan would be to slap my ally's etc on the 5 door and restore my 1.2 3 door to standard then sorn it until my wife's passed her test. I seriously can't think of a better first car than the 1.2 3 door. It's cheap enough on insurance, but it's not so small that going into a larger car is an issue.
Other option is to get a 5 door and keep the 3 door as my no-holds-barred project ;D but then it's still only a 1.2
hmmm
gonna take me a while just to figure out what I want to do! I've even thought of going for an MW, they look awesome when lowered with a b/kit. Plus loads of room for my diving gear etc.
EDIT: Just had a shufty on auto trader, and these are generally going for 3k....so people after a quick buck. Dodgy bastards ;D
