Maybe try connect it to ground?
Some headunits with display have wire which you connect it to handbrake any you can watch movie only if you have handbrake "on"... Check on your manual where you must connect it...

i'm presuming it is the same one, but unfourtunately i've heard from a lad whose done some work on a stilo's wire'ing that there is no speed pulse in a 02 stilo's... :(
the thing i need now is converter witch makes a speed pulse, and it costs about 60 quid on ebay...
    i just love christmas >:(
and there is a wire to the handbrake aswell, witch i do not want to connect because in that case if the wire is connected to the handbrake and the handbrake is off the unit will not even give me to change the cd's in it, atm. it's not connected and it's showing that it is connected in the system ;)

hi mate who ever told you that it dose not have a speed pulse is wrong ;) all stilo's work on (canbus) and so it will have 1

And yes it will be on the auto volume BUT it may not be a stong enough feed for the avic to pick up

I dont know where it is but will have a prod round my abarth and post back for you, my guess is there will be a strong one behind the clocks because the vdo instrument cluster is all run of the can system. ;D ill post back befor the week is out :-\ bit fekin cold out there at the moment ;D

    Hiya,

Think it was me that told x3me that, and I stand by what I said ;-). The stilo doesnt use a speed pulse signal as it uses CAN, so has no need to use the older type 'pulse' method.

Rather than using the old 1hz per mph type signal, the vehicle speed is transmitted in a message over the can bus where the required control units can aquire it, one of them being the radios. This isnt speed pulse per say, but can do the same thing.

The only way to get the traditional style speed pulse output is to use an adapter which translates the can message into pulses. The dash AFAIK get all its data over the two CAN networks in the car and has no need for the older type pulse signal.

The CN+ uses the CAN bus to aquire the vehicle speed to do its auto volume stuff.
