Hello everybody! I need your help! Last week I found a smart fortwo cdi at mobile .de which was at an extremely low price.So in order to replace my ruined fiat panda which unfotunately can't be fixed I arranged to buy it via third party company that told me I had to deposit half the money to send me the car and half of it when I got it.Now they tell me that the car was stoped in France by the police and I have to pay the rest of the money in order to get it because as they say the police has to know who the owner is and if i don't pay it all it can't seem to be in my name.The transport company is United Shipping Limited .Since you are in Englend can you check if it exists?And if they have any phone number to contact to? Yesterday I talked to someone who used the english language worse than me.Is the company fake? Please help me ! If you do I will make a donation to your club. Thanks in advance... Read the small print at the bottom of the website index page. They arent a company as such, just a website that fronts for lots of smaller carriers and shipper. They use the term 'partner', and then go onto say 'The term “partner” on the website is used to illustrate the close working relationship of its members; however, each “partner” is a separate entity and is not legally liable for the actions of the other members.'

Looks more like facebook for independent transport companies than an actual company. I would really be cautious about sending any more money anywhere...

Actually I haven't found any solution yet.The money was transfered via western union money transfer and now I shall give all the paperwork to the greek police.The bad news is that the british interpol has made a rule that says : if the money stolen is less than 5000 euros we don't deal with it!They put it in a file which might never be opened and they don't give any attention ... So if anyone can steal money by selling fake cars ... unfortunately UK is the right place to do so!!!
