Stilo passenger OCS airbag issues
Hi,
My airbag ECU thinks there is a passenger present no matter what even when the occupation sensor is disconnected. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?
I was having the usual airbag failure warnings and did a lot of reading and managed to plug the car into my computer and run the diagnostics. I cleaned all the connectors and the only fault left was with the OCS. After feeling some lumps in the passenger seat I removed the OCS and flattened it out, plugged it back and low and behold it worked. I glued a bit of card onto the mat to help hold it flat and tested it again but a new error appeared.
32 - Passenger weight sensor - internal error - present - 5
with the diagnostic software I could see that the airbag ECU was registering a passenger present no matter what I did with the OCS even unplugging it. The little amber baby would flash when I turned the key and the ECU would say passenger present.
I am tempted to get a new OCS but I did have the old one working before this new fault.

So with it unplugged and 'detecting a passenger' is the airbag fault light off?

No, with the ocs unplugged it is registering a passenger present and bringing up an airbag light. With it unplugged there are two faults in the system. One being, 32 - Passenger weight sensor - internal error - present - 5, and the other for the open circuit on the OCS. When I plug the OCS back in the open circuit error goes away but the other error remains and still tells me there is a passenger present.
