    Default retro fittng a connect nav + to a 1.8 dynamic ..

    as above realy ... i've just got a connect nav unit for my car, so far have just plugged it in to the existing loom and most of it works but does anyone have a online maual for it? also i need a wiring diagram so i can hopefully wire up the trip display on the unit too

    p.s if anyne buys one of these units second hand like i did and it didnt come with the antena (breakers found it easier to chop of the loom plugs rather than trace them back grrr) then i got mine of ebay for a tenner (fiat price is around £140 i do belive!)

    The trip/conmsumption data is obtained over the CAN network which iirc all stilos have. The unit will populate with the info once the engine is running. To see whats working go into the hidden service menu.

    For the GPS Aerial your best bet is to get a GPS aerial from ebay which are really cheap £10-15. The difficult bit can be wiring in the microphone for the phone, but if your not bothered for the phone I wouldnt bother.

    Haha, that I am - I like taking things apart:)

    I have done a lot of work documenting the hardware inside the CN+ unit as well as other parts of the car.

    the cn+ is a complicated bit of kit and does some very usefull things, if you feel that you want to put everything into guides, feel free mate. i find all this stuff extremley interesting, and i dare say so will many others. your a valued member and really appriciate your input, well done

    No problems guys, and thankyou

    I cant really do a retro-fit guide as I havent ever retro-fitted one, and I wouldnt plagurise someone elses work. There is already an excellent one on fiatforum.Ive got loads of technical info on the internals and operating system.

    Guides wise Ive added a couple today, Ill have a look through what info ive got lying around and see if there is anything else I can contribute. I was partway through writing an airbag diagnostic one using free tools, I would be a bit apprehensive of posting it though.

    anyway @voodoo - if you want any help getting it working ive got all the pinouts etc to get those hacked cables working - PM me if you want any help.
