For me I just splosh it with soapy water and then hose it off..but for the owner that really wants their car to shine I found this place very helpful..

International man of mystery
Wit, sarcasm, you get it all from me..

I've been fairly lazy in terms of washing RGZ. Tend to just use the Halfords Wax Wash stuff to wash her, then maybe use some Turtlewax colour wax to wax afterward if I can be bothered of course.
Hate having the black trim on RGZ, had Simoniz Back to Black spray before and it was great, but I've got the Carplan equivilant and it's useless. Auto Express rated it, but I got it and it's messy, leaves a horrible residue and always fails to get an even spread no matter how I try. Worst thing is trying to miss any glass when I spray it on the mirror covers or section on the B pillar...it's a nightmare to get off the glass. Basically, avoid that product. I'm getting one of those gel versions next.
Apart from that though, I like washing my car. Hate having to use even a road side handwash. Last one I used got bugger all dirt off and managed to put some extra scratches on it all for the bargain price of £3.50. Never again.
try using any wash and wax leather off all signs of water spray pledge or other furniture polish on a soft cloth wipe over all bodywork and just keep polishing.the rain just runs off and the car stays clean for much longer.
i clean my car with all meguires products, gold class wash, microfibres to dry it off, then meguires quick clay to get the contaminates off, gold class polish, gold class wax, take hours but the shine is unreal
