How to fit abarth skirts
Howdy all
I have acquired a set of abarth skirts which I'll be picking up a next week on the 17th.
They're coming off an abarth and am just wondering whether it's just bolt them on or is there anything special I need to do to fit them???
All comments and help much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: How to fit abarth skirts
My abarth skirts are fitted underneath by bolts I believe and the sides are kept flush with the bodywork by plastic push fittings like used on interior panels.
Your 1.2 wont have the holes in the bodywork so you will have to use some soft of adhesive to bond them on, which is much better than the normal way they are fitted.

Re: How to fit abarth skirts
If I were you Steven I would put the car in a body shop to get it done..they have experience when it comes to doing stuff like this and using adhesives.. the last thing you want is sticky stuff all over your cars body

Wit, sarcasm, you get it all from me..

Re: How to fit abarth skirts
I'd strongly recommend taking it somewhere to get it done. I tried to do it myself, and made a right hash of it.
They're currently sat on top of my wardrobe. So for me, biggest waste of money ever. :)
Only 9.80KB for a sig? WTF.

Re: How to fit abarth skirts
Given they're the same colour as yours, the body shop's only work will be to fit them, which should be under an hour's labour as they can't be that hard for someone in the know. That's what I'd do, unless it looks like I could fit them myself without making a mess of it

What type of adhesive would you recommend

Two of the best adhesives are Tiger seal and sticks like sh*t..body shops use the stuff they bond windscreens in with..

Think that's maybe what my mate used to put his GTi roof spoiler onto his 106. It does indeed give a long lasting bond - been on for probably a year or so at least with no signs of budging.

Re: How to fit abarth skirts
line the skirt up with the bodywork of the car and drill 2 small holes on the ends of each skirt and attach with selftapping screws when your happy with the fit of the panel, take it off again and lace it with windscreen bond or tiger seal then fit to the car use masking tape to ensure the skirt sits flush with the body work and if any of the sealant come out the edges, wipe off the panel immediately with petrol on a rag. done drive the car for a couple of hours. it'll be sweet lad.
