Default Eyebrow Fitting And Legality ?

i just got my brows off ebay and they arrived today, first of all im having trouble fitting them in, they see to partly fit but a corner overlaps the light, would i need to trim that bit off ? and can i glue them on?

secondly, im wondering if anyone knows how low the brows can go before there illegal, a link to some headlight law pages would be appriciated, im asking this because i want the angle the brows to give it a more unique look to standard fitted brows. i did a mock fitting earlier and the car looks amazing with the way i angled them, all the lights are perfectly visible from the front, full beam, dipped, fog lights, indicators and side lights are all unobstructed, i'll post a pic soon. but i'm just concerned is it still illegal to obstruct your headlight, even if all lights are perfectly visible ?

    cheers lads !

I've never messed around with eyebrows on vehicles before but have seen a few and did work on a car with some on and I'm guessing as long as it doesn't cut the light out by more than 10% it should be ok? I'll have a read about and see if I can get you any proper info on it

Bare in mind the percentage may be well out lol

cheers mate, the highway code doesnt state anything specifically about eyebrows, but it does say lights must be kept clear at all times, but surely that means all eyebrows are illegal, if my lights are clearly visible then whats the problem, and if so tinted rear lights wouldnt be legal would they.

either way, f**k em. im putting them on anyway.

I've fired off a question regarding it but judging by most cars with eyebrows fitted, they seem to accomodate the lights rather than block. Especially BMW's. Seen alot of tints as a brow too...

Looks about 20% at max to me. Also found this... Not sure why I felt like bringing it up though

From what I read, the headlights seem to have very strict standards. I'm still searching, but I'd hold back mate just incase as you don't wanna be pulled and fined for it. Unless you get off with a caution (Risky, but one way of finding out haha!)

drive the car up to a wall, so that you can see the "pattern" of the lights, the Eyebrows MUST NOT disrupt the pattern of the lights, i had headlight brows on my golf and they had a cutout so that the beam was not disrupted in anyway.
i'll have a look for you

think im gonna trial this myself, ive decided to stick the brow on with a temporary adhesive, double sided tape or something, if i get pulled by the police i'll just take them off right there and then and apoligise.

but if they dont pull me over in say a couple of months, i might have to look at a more permanent solution ;)

Had them on my chav rocket mate..no issues with the law at all..good old builders clear silicon mastic does the job...just a blob here and there is ample to keep them inplace..if you need to remove then all you have to do is use a single edged razor blade to slice through the blobs..
