The rub strip is held on by clips which are accessed from inside the door and its common that they snap off..you will need to remove the door interier panel to get at them....or that could be Doh ..which ever way you look at it..chap to have a word with is Morty mort on this one he did a strip down and tint on his stilo..

the clips are very easily broken mate, as phil says take the doorcard off and push them out from the inside

Pay's to take them off IMHO..cleaner and better finnish..if you take them off then just make sure you get spare clips..[dealer only ]

yes the clips are dealer only, iirc they are around 75pence each and there is 6 in each door strip. they'll need to be cleaned degreased and keyed with a scotch pad. plastic primared then painted and laquered

let me tell you lads soment,

i am the laziest person you will ever meet when it comes to modding, DIY or whatever. i like to the use the "get it done and f**k what it looks like" approach. i wish i didnt, i wish i could have the time and patience to do a job good, but i dont. i want it done as fast as possible and as cheap and easy as possible. i know, i disgust myself as well.

SO all this talk of, buing new parts and de-greasing and greasing and keying and what not, goes straight through one ear and out the other. with me its gonna be pull off and stick back in with tiger seal or soment, a quick job you see. so i can put my feet up. and admire it

dont get me wrong i appreciate all your advice, and i do try and put it to good use, but i always f*ck up, im just not confident with big jobs. thats why i go cheap and easy

It's a shame they're not like the mk2 Punto one's really in this respect - no clips on them, just stuck on.

I'm thinking of doing the same as I want to colour code the side ones. I've got pretty interesting plans in terms of bodywork, nothing outlandish but I reckon it could look rather good when finished. Just need to raise the necessary funds and stop buying old games consoles/games
