    Default new rims, your opinions?

    hey,
i'm planning to get a new set of wheels, well old new found 18" Kei Force alloys on FF, already spoke to the guy and will probably get them sometime this month, hoping that they're not scuffed badly...
The FIAT Forum - Classifieds - Kei Force 10 18" Alloy Wheels With tyres! - Find and Buy Used FIAT Cars and Parts
he's asking £400 with nearly new tyres, but i will probably work something between £400-£450 with the gsr induction kit
really chuffed about it, but just want to have a few other opinions before doing something stupid

well i've got the alloys and the only thing that bothers me now is that the bolts are going slightly sideways when i put them on... they were on a 1.4 before witch tells me that they should fit my car without a problem... any ideas would be much appreciated as i'm in panic right now

Well those wheels are after market and no doubt have a PCD of 4x100 ..if thats is so did he give you the wobbly bolts to go with them..?

nah, just got them on the standard bolts with new locking nuts, but had a quick trip around to the car wash and they seem to be as tight as i've put them beforehand... will that be much of a problem?

You cant use standard bolts on a wheel with 4x100 PCD and attatch the wheels to a hub with 4x98 pcd..the bolts wont sit dead centre and tighten down and not only is it dangeous but it will screw the wheels up..wobbley bolts have a collar on the bolt that sits centre when you tighten the bolts down..allows you to fit a 4x100 wheel to a 4x98 hub..either sell the wheels on or buy yourself a set of wobblers..
    no other alternative ..sorry..

Just one set off ebay..there might be more so check..also any locking bolts will also have to be of the wobbly kind because the same applies they wont sit straight..

16 * 12x1.25 WOBBLY WHEEL BOLTS FOR FIAT STILO on eBay (end time 15-Jan-11 1541 GMT)

well as i saw them bolts "looking" at all the directions except straight i thought there is something wrong... so they're off once again now and i'm going to get the wobblies tommorow to put them back on... it's just a thing when you dont know something, thought they were on a stilo so they will fit mine aswell...
i've heard about the wobbly bolts before, but thought they're just normal bolts that are wobbly, so mine will be wobbly aswell
the main thing is i've learned my lesson, thanks for the help once more PNL

No problem my friend ..does make me wonder a little how the origninal owner of those wheels managed..if he only fitted them with standard bolts and not wobbley ones then he was in certain danger of having a major accident at some time..hang on tho He did didnt he ..

in fact he did, but afaik it wasnt his fault (i mean the wheel didnt fall off while he was driving) well i think he didnt give me wobblies cause of the spacers, as he had 30mm spacers at the back and 20mm at the front, where the bolts should have been the longer ones than the ones i'm using, so i think that would be the reason...
ohh and here's yesterdays outcome, the quality is a bit naff, but it was getting dark

also got a new toy to mock around sometime probably when it will get warmer, it will sit where the old box was witch imo is a bit too low, might get some water in there when going thru puddles? or do you reckon the guard on the bottom will keep it safe?

Alloys look ok. As for induction kit I personally decided to do for a forced induction system, minimal risk of water ingress then.
